- Arlene Schneir presented our report, No Way Home, to the steering committee of the California Adolescent Health Collaborative in Oakland, CA.
- The sCARE Foundation (Suspense Community Allocating Relief & Empowerment) and Jamie Lee Curtis presented the Hollywood Homeless Youth Partnership with a check for $10,000 at LA Live. The funds will be used to support youth programming in HHYP agencies.
Sylvia La Malfa, Curt Shepard, Heather Carmichael and Arlene Schneir attended the The California Wellness Foundation’s Transitional Age Youth (TCWF TAY) Conference and met Jennifer Ho from the Interagency Council on Homelessness. Curt participated in a special dinner honoring Ms. Ho and had the opportunity to educate her about the needs of homeless youth in Hollywood and the policy agenda of the HHYP.
Sylvia La Malfa and Curt Shepard were panelists in a KPCC sponsored panel discussion, “Their Shame is Our Shame: Mental Well-Being of Homeless Youth.” This panel discussion was designed to address the mental health and wellness challenges faced by homeless youth and the community programs and services available to them. This event was sponsored by The California Wellness Foundation and moderated by Donna C. Myrow, Executive Director and Publisher of LA Youth.
